Beyond Boundaries Dance Collective was founded in 2005 as a collaboration of choreographers and dancers in the Grand Junction community.  With a focus on contemporary dance, Beyond Boundaries seeks to create an avenue for artistic excellence and expression where we can touch, move and inspire others through our passion for dance.  Beyond Boundaries is committed to supporting the next generation of dance artists, giving a substantial portion of its proceeds to the Mesa State College Theatre Department in grants for dance students each year.  The name Beyond Boundaries refers to our desire to continue dancing throughout our lifetime.

Beyond Boundaries is committed to supporting the next generation of dance artists, giving a substantial portion of its tickets sales proceeds to the Colorado Mesa  University Theatre Dept. for dance scholarships each year.  CMU’s 2011 Beyond Boundaries scholarship recipient was, Laura Stroman currently is a double major in Dance and Mass Communications  at CMU .

"This summer I was incredibly lucky to win the Beyond Boundaries Summer Dance Grant and travel to Boulder, Colorado for the 33^rd  While in Boulder I got the opportunity to dance with dancers, both professional and amateur from all over the country.  I reconnected with friends and met new peers from cities as diverse as Portland, Chicago, Boston, and even Mexico City.  I got to take such a wide variety of classes including ballet, jazz, modern, hip-hop, and turns.  By the end of each day I loved dancing more and more and couldn’t be more thankful for the great opportunity I was given.  The chance I had to network with other dancers was something I would never have been able to obtain in Grand Junction.  I made connections with dancers and companies that will be very valuable to my career after school at Colorado Mesa University.  Being a double major in Dance and Mass Communications, I always find myself extremely busy during the school year working on projects, papers, tests, performances, and concerts.  But regardless of how busy I get, I will always have time to realize and give thanks that Beyond Boundaries gave me the opportunity to live my amazing experience this summer.  Beyond Boundaries will always hold a very special place in my heart for allowing me to experience so much joy while continuing to perfect my craft of dancing.
